Churches, Bricks, and Dead Angels: A Dream Recall

I originally was going to put this into a tweet thread like I do most of my other dream recall accounts, but this was just too long and detailed. It would have taken ages to click through and parts of it would probably get lost in replies, etc.

Is really does get pretty strange. Like it started with one thing and then went off the rails towards the end. I did wake up a couple time through the night, but each time I fell asleep, the dream picked right back up where it left off.

So here it goes...

I start off in a brick paved courtyard standing between two churches facing each other. One is old and the other is new, but they look exactly the same otherwise. It's like they're mirroring each other.

I'm waiting for something, not exactly sure what, but I decide to read the plaques on the side of the older building. One says there was a natural spring with a brick fountain built around it, and it was paved over to build the new church. This made me incredibly angry. I couldn't fathom why on earth they would do such a thing. I decided to enter the old church to find someone to talk to about it.

The Nave is massive and covered in really beautiful stonework. There is one large brick free-standing pillar at one side of the Nave. For some reason, I decided to climb it. I reach the top and the roof of the Nave is gone. It's all open air now and I can see all the rest of the buildings around me. I look to my left and see that some of the bricks of the building next to me are turning gold. There are some loose gold brick laying on the ground below as well. Looking back to the wall with the gold bricks, I see some bricks with words on them very near the roofline. I would not have seen them if I had not climbed the brick pillar. This strikes me as important, and the time 4:00PM pops into my head which sticks with me through the remainder of the dream.

This is where it starts to go off the rails...

I look back down to the floor of the Nave and it has opened up into a sunken tiled pool with steps all around that lead to the bottom.  People are hanging out on the top step just getting their toes wet in the water. I see something red shining in the deep part in the center of the pool. I climb down from my perch to investigate.

I swim into the water and pick it up. It's a small (probably 6"x6") carved red glass box with gold trim. I open it, and all I see laying on the velvet lined interior are fragments of Ermine. I close the box. A priest approaches me, and I'm worried I might be in trouble. He's smiling and takes the box from my hands, then gestures for me to follow him.

We end up in the Sacristy, and he takes me over to a large standing cabinet. It's made of blonde wood and is very elaborately carved. He opens the doors and there are...bones inside. The skull is elongated in the nose area, almost like a dog or a horse. The rest look human. They are large and have bits of blue mummified flesh attached to them. He tells me they are the bones of an angel who was killed in a war.  That it was a precious relic. I pick up the skull, look at it closer, and then put it back. The bones suddenly begin to develop sinew and muscle very quickly. Alarmed, I look to the priest, but he's rushing back out the door with the red box under his robes. The remainder of the bones have reassembled into a very large, strange looking upright creature, and it is MAD mad. The head of it never completely recovers all of its muscle or tissue and has exposed bone. It only takes a moment for it to realize I am not the one who killed it, but instead was the one who revived it. It grabs me by the arm and pulls me along.

*During the entirety of this dream, trees and other greenery are slowly encroaching on the dreamspace. Trees in the middle of room. Vines growing and creeping over walls an into windows*

We end up in a very large room that is absolutely full of foliage, and then the walls disappear. The angel doesn't speak, but I get the impression that it's telling me it belongs out here and that it's grateful.

At this point, I'm remembering 4:00PM again and then say to myself, "They're an hour ahead so I need to arrive by 3:00PM my time."

I walk out to get into my car and leave. It's dark. All the roads and buildings are gone. I turn my car on and drive through the grass with no headlights.  Then I wake up.

That got weird, right?
